Trip Day 12 - Monday

0540-52F/44F. Calm and clear.

Morning Sunrise

Coffee is on to have with cookies for study time.

Verse of the day: "Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing." (1Pe 3:8-9)

0750-Study time finished. Will make breakfast.

Still Waters

0820-Finished breakfast. Preparing to depart. I plan to have the drone track the boat since it is calm this morning.

Departing Anchorage

Underway

1015-Arrived at the new anchorage. 5.3 miles. Sunny, warm, calm, in the 70's. Flew the drone on departure and also upon arrival. Should have some good video.

Leg 9

Anchored in 7' of water, mud bottom. Need to do dishes but will take a short break first.

Observed the first adult bald eagle coming into the anchorage.

New Anchorage

Did some fine tuning on the drone to amend cache and max altitude settings.

1245-Finished dishes.

Checked the bilge pump but it would not run. Checked fuses. Wire connection may have failed? Stuck with manual pump for now.

Wind to 21 mph and rain tonight, tomorrow, and into Wednesday. Will attempt to move Wednesday.

May fish this afternoon. Still no boat traffic this trip, except for two small fishing boats, one from the resort and one likely from a shore camp.

1700-Listened to music on the aft deck most of the afternoon. Reset the stern anchor but I'm not happy with the whole anchoring arrangement. Too much side wind pressure. Will wait for the wind to drop a little. Gusting over 15 mph in the anchorage right now. Will reset everything in anticipation of strong winds tomorrow (21 mph).

Grilled steak tenderloin for dinner, accompanied by salad, potatoes, rolls, and red wine.

Wind should drop over the next hour.

1800-Repositioned anchors. I feel better with the new setup. Squirrely winds in this cove. Sipping some red wine while enjoying the remaining sunshine.

The Rapids

1930-Made a last minute decision to go to the head of the cove since it appears there may be a water fall. I can see foam generated by something. Since the weather is still fair I'm going to check out what is causing the bubbles.
